Terms of service
The rules for using this website. These are website terms — the terms governing actual client work live in the engagement agreement for that project.

In plain language
Use the site sensibly. The words, code and images on it are ours unless stated otherwise, though you are welcome to quote us with attribution. Nothing on this website is a contractual offer or professional advice for your specific situation — that comes from a signed scope, not a web page.
About these terms
These terms govern your use of sbpoconsulting.com, operated by SBPO Consulting. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please stop using the site.
These are website terms. They do not govern any project we carry out for you. Client work is governed by a separate written engagement agreement and scope document, which takes precedence over anything on this website in the event of a conflict.
This website is not an offer or advice
Service descriptions, methodology pages and articles on this site are published for information. They do not constitute a contractual offer, a quotation, or professional advice tailored to your circumstances. Do not make a material business decision on the basis of a page here without talking to us — or to an appropriate professional — about your specific situation.
We deliberately publish no prices and no delivery timelines on this site, because both depend entirely on scope. Any figure quoted to you comes in a written proposal, not from a web page.
Intellectual property
The content of this site — text, design, code, illustrations, the SBPO Consulting name and logo — belongs to us or our licensors, except where a third party is credited.
What you may do without asking:
- Read, print and share pages for your own or your organisation's internal use.
- Quote a reasonable extract in your own writing, with attribution and a link to the page.
- Link to any page on this site, from anywhere, without permission.
What you may not do:
- Republish substantial portions of our writing as your own, with or without attribution.
- Use our name, logo or brand in a way that implies a relationship, partnership or endorsement that does not exist.
- Scrape the site to train a model or build a derivative dataset for commercial resale.
Work produced for a client under an engagement agreement is governed by that agreement, not by this section. Our standard position is that everything we make for you becomes yours at handover.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for any unlawful purpose;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, or probe for vulnerabilities outside a responsible disclosure process;
- use the enquiry form to send bulk, automated or unsolicited commercial messages;
- impersonate any person or organisation in a submission.
Security researchers acting in good faith are welcome. Please follow the process in our security.txt; we will not pursue action against anyone who reports a genuine issue responsibly and does not exfiltrate data.
Links to other sites
We link out to third-party documentation and sources because citing evidence is more useful than asserting things. Those sites are not under our control, we do not endorse their content, and we are not responsible for it. External links open in a new tab and are labelled as such.
Availability and accuracy
We aim to keep the site available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, and technical content ages. Where a page states a fact about a third-party platform or standard, that fact was accurate when the page was last reviewed; the date is shown on articles. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we will fix it — that is a genuine request, not a formality.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on information published on this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Liability arising from client work is addressed in the relevant engagement agreement.
Privacy
How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy, and cookies in our cookie policy. Both form part of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. The "last reviewed" date at the top will change when we do, and the version in force is the one published here.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent via the contact page.

Policies are only useful if they are readable. If any part of this document is ambiguous, tell us and we will rewrite it.
