Cookie policy
A short policy, because there is very little to declare.
Last reviewed
In plain language
This site currently sets no cookies at all — no analytics, no advertising, no cross-site tracking. There is nothing for you to consent to or opt out of.
The short version
This website currently sets no cookies. No analytics, no advertising, no cross-site tracking, no consent banner — because there is nothing to consent to. That is a deliberate architectural choice: the site is static, has no user accounts, and does not need to know who you are to serve you a page.
What a cookie actually is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on subsequent
requests. Related technologies — localStorage, sessionStorage and
IndexedDB — store data in your browser without sending it automatically. Regulators generally
treat all of them the same way, and so does this policy.
Cookies this site sets
None. If this changes — for example if we add analytics — this table will be populated with the specific cookie names, purposes and retention periods before the change goes live, and a consent mechanism will be added where one is legally required. We will not quietly start tracking and update the policy afterwards.
Third-party embeds
We do not embed YouTube videos, social media widgets, chat popups, heatmap recorders, or advertising pixels on this site. Those are the usual source of cookies people did not expect, and avoiding them is why this policy is short.
Fonts are self-hosted from this domain rather than loaded from a third-party font service, so reading this page does not send a request to anyone else's server.
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and every major browser lets you refuse them by default. Doing so will not break this site, because nothing here depends on them. Guidance for each browser:
- Google Chrome (opens in a new tab)
- Mozilla Firefox (opens in a new tab)
- Apple Safari (opens in a new tab)
- Microsoft Edge (opens in a new tab)
A note on the advice we give clients
We build sites that do use analytics and advertising technology, because most businesses need to measure something. When we do, we implement consent properly rather than as a banner that fires the tags regardless — and we push back on tracking nobody will ever look at, because every tag is a performance cost and a privacy liability with an owner who eventually leaves.
