Physical therapy works best when the effort continues at home. Therapists often give you a short set of exercises to do between visits, but busy days make them easy to skip.

A few simple habits can help the routine stick. Steady, regular practice usually matters more than doing a lot at once.

  • Link your exercises to something you already do, such as your morning coffee.
  • Keep written instructions or photos handy so you can check your form.
  • Mark each session on a calendar to see your progress.
  • Tell your therapist if an exercise feels too easy, too hard or painful.

Mild muscle soreness can be normal, but sharp pain, new numbness or worsening symptoms are reasons to stop and contact your therapist or doctor.
